Poppy Field, Outskirts of Giverny

Poppy Field, Outskirts of Giverny

£95.00Price

In 1890 Monet bought a house in the village of Giverny, and whilst exploring the countryside around the village he produced ‘The Poppy Field near Giverny’. The forms and textures of the poppies are suggested by the size, shape, and direction of the brushstrokes, and the juxtaposition of complementary reds and greens gives the painting a vibrant intensity.
